God Is Present in the Ordinary Moments

Devotional Thought
Many of us expect God to meet us during church services, prayer gatherings, or major life events.
But sometimes He meets us while we're making coffee.
Sometimes He meets us while we're folding laundry, cleaning the house, driving to work, or sitting quietly in a room filled with memories.
Grief often arrives unexpectedly. A photograph, a song, or a simple thought can awaken emotions we thought were resting peacefully beneath the surface.
When those moments come, it can be tempting to suppress our tears or convince ourselves that we should be "over it" by now.
God never asks us to hide our grief.
Throughout Scripture, we see people crying, lamenting, mourning, and pouring out their hearts before Him. Their tears were not signs of weak faith. They were expressions of deep love and honest humanity.
The Lord draws near to broken hearts.
He sits with us in our sorrow.
He listens when we whisper the names of those we miss.
He understands every tear before it falls.
If grief visits you today, know that God is not absent from your pain.
He is present in the ordinary moment.
He is present in the memory.
He is present in the tears.
And He is present in the love that remains.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being near to us in every season of life. Thank You for meeting us not only in extraordinary moments but also in the ordinary moments that make up our days.
When grief rises unexpectedly, help us to remember that You are with us. Comfort our hearts, strengthen our spirits, and remind us that Your love surrounds us even in our sorrow.
Thank You for the memories that continue to bless us and for the people who have touched our lives in meaningful ways.
Help us honor those we love while trusting You to carry us forward one day at a time.

Closing Prayer of Protection
Lord, we thank You for Your presence, comfort, and peace. As we go throughout our day, cover us and our loved ones with Your protection. Let no fear, anxiety, or sorrow overwhelm us. Strengthen our hearts and minds, and remind us that You are always near.
We stand on the promise of Psalm 91, trusting that You are our refuge and fortress. Surround us with Your angels, guide our steps, and keep us safely in Your care.
