Reflection

Most of us enjoy making plans.

We plan vacations, family gatherings, career goals, ministry opportunities, and dreams for the future. There is nothing wrong with planning. In fact, planning can be an act of good stewardship.

The challenge comes when life doesn't unfold the way we expected.

Unexpected illnesses arise. Doors close. Relationships change. Opportunities are delayed. Suddenly, the future we carefully imagined looks very different from the one standing before us.

In those moments, disappointment can quietly take root in our hearts.

But Scripture reminds us that while we make plans, God directs our steps.

That truth doesn't mean our disappointments aren't real. It simply reminds us that God's purpose is never interrupted by our changed circumstances. He sees what we cannot see. He knows what we cannot know. Even when we don't understand His direction, we can trust His heart.

Sometimes God changes our plans because He is protecting us.

Sometimes He redirects us because He is preparing us.

Sometimes He simply asks us to trust Him one step at a time.

Whatever the reason, we can be confident that His plans are always shaped by His love and His wisdom.

Personal Reflection

There have been moments in my life when I carefully planned something I was looking forward to, only to realize that it wasn't going to happen the way I expected.

At first, I focused on what I was losing.

But after spending time in prayer, I realized something important.

God wasn't asking me to give up hope.

He was asking me to trust His timing.

Instead of dwelling on one missed opportunity, He reminded me of the blessings that were still ahead. There would be future celebrations, future trips, future opportunities, and future joy. What He wanted from me in this season was not frustration, but faith.

I have learned that trusting God doesn't mean we stop making plans.

It means we hold those plans with open hands, believing that if He changes our direction, His purpose is always greater than our expectations.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving me enough to guide my steps, even when the path looks different than I imagined. Help me release my disappointment and replace it with confidence in Your perfect plan.

Teach me to trust Your wisdom when my plans change and to remember that nothing surprises You. Give me peace when life feels uncertain, patience while I wait, and faith to believe that You are working all things together for my good.

Help me keep my eyes on You instead of my circumstances, knowing that Your plans are always higher and better than my own.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.

Psalms 91 Covering

May the Lord order your steps according to His perfect will. When your plans change, may His peace remain constant. May He surround you with His protection, strengthen your faith, and remind you that every closed door, every delay, and every unexpected turn is still under His loving care.

May you walk confidently into the future, knowing that the God who leads you will never leave you. As you dwell in the shelter of the Most High, may you rest securely in His promises and trust that His plans for your life are good.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
