Reflection:

Survival isn’t just about making it through the storm—it’s about learning how to stand in the aftermath. It’s about finding strength in the places we thought we were too broken to rebuild. I know, because there have been times in my life when I’ve wondered if I would ever feel strong again. If I would ever feel like me again.

But God doesn’t just help us survive.
He strengthens us through the process.
And He doesn’t waste a single part of the journey.

Devotional:

There’s a difference between surviving and thriving. Surviving is the act of simply getting by—going through the motions, putting one foot in front of the other. But thriving? That’s where true strength lies. Thriving is not just surviving the storm, but being changed by it in a way that makes you stronger, wiser, and more resilient than before.

God promises us that He will strengthen us in our survival. He doesn’t leave us hanging, hoping that somehow we’ll find the strength on our own. He’s with us every step of the way—holding us up, lifting us higher, and renewing our strength. We don’t have to navigate our struggles in isolation. We have a God who is always present, always working for our good.

As we embrace the strength He offers, we learn that survival is not the end of the story. It’s just the beginning of the next chapter.

Personal Note:

I’ve been through seasons where survival felt like a victory in itself. It felt like the weight of my past and my pain would crush me. I remember moments where I thought I had nothing left, and even then, God met me in my brokenness and reminded me that survival wasn’t all He had for me. He showed me that the pain I was walking through would serve a purpose greater than I could imagine. And in that place of survival, I found strength—strength that came not from me, but from the One who carried me.

Now, looking back, I see how that strength shaped my foundation, my purpose, and the work I do today. My survival didn’t just bring me to this moment—it prepared me for what was to come.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the strength You provide in the midst of our survival. Even when it feels like we’re barely holding on, we know You are upholding us. Help us to remember that survival is not the end, but a new beginning. May we walk in the strength You give us, trusting that You are always with us, and that You are using our journey for Your glory.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
